About Nanyana
Meet Nanyana, an independent music journal for careful listening, local context and useful questions.
- Editorial information

Nanyana is an independent music journal focused on the details that make listening more useful: how a first single introduces an artist, how a record holds together, how a room shapes an audience and how an interview can make room for process.
The site brings together four connected sections: New Artists, Album Reviews, Scene Reports and Interviews. Each piece starts with a concrete question, stays close to what can be heard or observed, and names its limits instead of turning a small example into a universal rule.
How to read the site
Use the sections as different entrances into the same subject. A review can lead to a scene report; an interview can sharpen a listening note; a practical guide can make a live set easier to discuss. Some readers also cross the line from listening to playing, and that step has its own reading, as with learning bluegrass instruments, where repertoire and technique are hard to separate. The contact page is open for editorial questions and partnership proposals.
